Job Description

As a Communications Coordinator for the Berry Center for Integrity in Leadership, you will be responsible for managing all communication efforts to ensure effective dissemination of information, promotion of events, and engagement with campus and community partners. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in communication strategies within an academic or administrative setting. This role involves:

  • Content Creation: Generate engaging and informative content for various communication channels, including social media platforms, website updates, and email announcements.
  • Social Media Management: Develop and implement social media strategies to increase the center's online presence and engagement. Regularly update social media profiles with relevant content, event promotions, and news updates.
  • Event Promotion: Create promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and digital graphics to advertise events both on and off-campus.
  • Internal Communication: Facilitate communication within the center by distributing important announcements, updates, and reminders to the team via Outlook and/or Microsoft Teams.
  • External Communication: Serve as a point of contact for external inquiries, including media requests, partnership opportunities, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Graphic Design: Utilize design software to create visually appealing graphics, infographics, and promotional materials that align with the center's branding guidelines.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Monitor the performance of communication initiatives using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) and provide regular reports on key metrics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, student organizations, and campus resources to coordinate collaborative communication efforts and cross-promotional opportunities.
Job Requirements
  • Currently enrolled with a major or concentration in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experience managing social media accounts (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram) for personal or organizational purposes.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving and innovation.
  • Knowledge of communication best practices and emerging trends in digital media and marketing is a plus.
