Job Description

Summary

 

The Volunteer Management Assistant’s primary responsibility is to assist with volunteer recruitment and management, oversee volunteer training, and organize volunteer appreciation initiatives.

Primary Duties

  • Manage scheduling for all Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum Volunteers.
  • Check-in regularly with volunteers about their roles and responsibilites.
  • Assist with the training of volunteers, and manage the production of training materials and resources.
  • Assist with volunteer outreach and recuitment efforts.
  • Organize volunteer appreciation initiatives.
  • Evaluate volunteer program success and assist with the identifying areas for program growth.
  • Meet bi-weekly with the Director of Community Engagement & Education

Secondary Duties 

  • Give tours of the Oak Hill home and manage the front desk as needed
  • Assist with museum housekeeping as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work hours are primarily 9-5, Monday through Friday, with occasional after hours and Saturday requirements.

This role will develop skills in team managment & onboarding, recruitment, & effective team building.
Job Requirements
 
Skills required: attention to detail, ability to work alone or as part of a group, computer proficiency, and good time management. Some manageent experience required.
 
After training, the student must be able to do the following when needed: use a register, know the history of Martha Berry and Berry College well enough to give tours, be able to drive golf carts and other Berry vehicles (good driving record is required).
 
Must be able to work a minimum of 6 hours a week with full 2-hour blocks of time.
 
As the museum is off-site, transportation is the responsibility of the student.
