Job Description

This course will ordinarily be associated with course management for classes below the level of calculus. Duties may include:

1) holding review sessions,

2) grading homework assignments or quizzes

3) help with various aspects of course preparation

Additionally, student workers may be required to construct solutions to homework assignments. This position will also require regular meetings with the instructor in order to trade papers and discuss student performance.
Job Requirements

 

Students must have earned a grade of B- or better in the course for which they are assisting. The student worker may have to have regular meetings with the instructor to discuss matters related to the course and preparations for upcoming duties. Successful applicants should possess:

  • good communication skills,
  • good time management skills, in particular, the ability to grade and return papers in a reasonable time frame
  • ability to respond to emails in a timely fashion,
  • ability to remain impartial and patient with students.
