Job Description

I am currently writing my second book for Wiley about the advanced geologic concepts of Costa Rica. My first book, Iceland: Tectonics, Volcanics, and Glacial Features (Wiley, 2020) has been a best-seller for the past 3-years. For the Iceland book I worked closely with one student to create all of the figures/diagram and tables for the book. He is credited for every design and has been recognized on major stages, like the Smithsonian National History Museum.

I would like to work closely with a student to create figures and diagrams for my book. The expected delieverable is at least 2-3 figures/diagrams per week.

I would like to hire and train the student now, and have them work with me remotely over the summer and into the 2023-2024 academic year.

Job Requirements

I am seeking a student who is:

1. creative

2. independently motivated

3. interested in science, but not necessarily a major

4. can meet a deadline of at least making at least 3 figure/diagram/tables a week

5. familar with drawing software would be nice, but the software we use (Canvas GX) is easy and intuiative (even for me!)

6. can committ to this project throughout the summer and into the next academic year (Summer 2023-Spring 2024). That is, the student can work remotely during summer months.
