Job Description

The Head Lifeguard will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, supervision, and effective operation of aquatic facilities at the Pool Cage Pool. This leadership position demands a vigilant and experienced lifeguard professional with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Training: Provide leadership and guidance to lifeguard staff, ensuring vigilant surveillance of the pool area and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Shift Management: Coordinate lifeguard schedules, breaks, and rotations to maintain adequate coverage and uphold safety standards during all operational hours.
  • Training and Development: Organize regular training sessions for lifeguards, focusing on CPR, first aid and water rescue techniques
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce pool rules, safety regulations, and established protocols to create a secure and enjoyable environment for patrons.
  • Accident Reporting: Document incidents, accidents, and near-miss situations accurately, and communicate them to appropriate personnel.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and maintain rescue equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and readiness for emergency situations.
  • Patron Assistance: Provide excellent customer service, address patron inquiries, and offer assistance as needed.
  • Communication: Collaborate with Aquatics Director, aquatics staff, and facility personnel to ensure effective communication and a coordinated approach to safety.
  • In-Service Training: Participate in regular in-service training sessions to enhance lifeguard skills and knowledge.
Job Requirements

Current Lifeguard certification from a recognized certifying agency.
CPR and First Aid certifications.
Minimum of 3 semesters of Cage lifeguard experience
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Proficient in water rescue techniques and emergency response procedures.
Knowledge of pool operations, safety standards, and facility protocols.
Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and College breaks.
