Department Summary: The Social Media Assistant will join the staff of Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum, which tells the story of Martha Berry and Berry College through tours of the historic home, exhibitions in the museum, events on the grounds, and educational programming. The museum maintains a regular social media presence, primarily through Facebook and Instagram. Position Summary: The Social Media Assistant is an entry-level position that supports social media marketing for Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum. This position offers exposure to cultural heritage fields and an opportunity to develop transferable skills such as content creation and social media management.
Essential Functions: - Manage content creation and posting schedules for the museum’s social media presence. - Address messages on social media platforms, reaching out to staff as needed for answers or directing guests to the appropriate person or information. - Assist with graphic design as needed for various marketing projects. - Assist with other museum operations (historical tours, housekeeping, customer service, etc.) and projects as required.
