Job Description

This is an intermediate position for a sophmore, junior, or senior student majoring in communication/business, minoring in communication/business with at least one academic year of related coursework, or any major that has completed at least one academic year of related communication coursework, directed independent study, or successfully held a similar LifeWorks position with another faculty for at least one semester. The student will begin assisting the research professor with all social media accounts including creation, publication, and maintenance of all official social media accounts and/or websites linked with scholarly research in the Fish Eco-Physiology laboratory.

Job Requirements

The student will help create official accounts in TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. In addition, the student will design and publish original content for these platforms within a frequency determined by the student and professor. The student is also given the opportunity to design/create original images, artwork, and writing pieces to help better communicate science to a broader audience. Opportunities to join research students in the field to take pictures and record videos are encouraged as well. The student will provide weekly updates to the professor via in-person meetings or via email. Otherwise there are no expectation for additional physical meeting times and the student can complete the work at their convenience.
