Job Description

The Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) is looking to hire dedicated LifeWorks student employees who are interested in working in an office setting and assisting with CPPD events throughout the year. In the CPPD, we have various career events throughout the year, trainings, and other events on campus to host. Students in the position will be working in the office answering phones, checking email and mail boxes, welcoming students and other visitors, and checking visitors into their appointments. This student will need to be dependable, pay close attention to detail, and be willing to learn.

Job Requirements

The student must have an interest in:

-          Working in an office setting

-          Answering phones and welcoming guests

-          Assisting with CPPD events

Day to day duties:

-          Light office clean up (sweeping, dusting, tidying work spaces, disinfect areas)

-          Restock supplies

-          Checking CPPD email inbox and P.O. Boxes

-          Checking students and visitors in for appointments

-          Walking students and visitors to their appointment

-          Promptly answering the phone and transferring calls

-          When having a CPPD event the student will be asked to:

-          Prepare handouts for workshops, trainings or event

-          Prepare materials and supplies

-          Gather all materials and supplies that you are told are needed

-          Work the event if it falls in your regular work schedule

-          Keep track of Career Closet Check-In/Check-Out

This student will need to have a welcoming and helpful attitude towards all that walk into the office or call the office line. Students will need to be comfortable and confident when greeting visitors and answering the phones. We will train the student on our protocol, but the student will need to have an interest in having a customer service role.
