Job Description

The person in this position will be responsible to troubleshoot and repair equipment used by the Chemistry Department. They will follow guidance based on instruction manuals and the Standard Operating Procedures written for this position. Upon successful repair, this worker will place the items in a designated area and fill out the appropriate paperwork associated with that item. For items that cannot be repaired, they will notify the staff supervisor using the appropriate form and remove the item from the inventory record. Furthermore, this person must communicate with the team leader to notify individuals in the department the status of the items. Lastly, they will inventory batteries and other repair items and notify the staff supervisor when stockage of these items is low. This worker is a part of the Chemistry Safety Team and is required to attend regular meetings. Chemistry safety training is required due to the proximity of chemical preparation operations. 

Job Requirements

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and follow all safety procedures, knowledge of all common tools is required with familiarity with special tools a plus. Work is not always time sensitive, but the ability to prioritize is a requirement. Workers are required to have good communication skills and be able to discern at what level information should be communicated when raising concerns.
