Student employee is familiar with proper techniques for laying out, cuttings and fitting materials for welding. Pre-heats and cleans materials. Performs elementary types of welding, straightening, and grinding, including such work as auto body repair, heavy and special equipment repair (shovels, buckets, dozer blades, etc.), boiler maintenance and repair, and metal constructions as needed. Uses acetylene and electrical arc as required. Brazes non-ferrous metals. Inspects brushes and grinds welds.
