Key Responsibilities

• Sample Collection:

  • Collect biological, environmental, or laboratory samples following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate labeling and documentation during sampling procedures.

• Sample Handling & Preservation:

  • Prepare, handle, and transport samples safely and efficiently.
  • Perform proper storage and preservation techniques (e.g., refrigeration, freezing, chemical preservation) to maintain sample integrity.

• Basic Laboratory Analysis:

  • Conduct routine or introductory-level laboratory tests such as weighing, pH measurement, titrations, dry matter determination, or other project-specific procedures.
  • Assist with instrument setup, calibration, and simple maintenance under supervision.

• Data Entry & Recordkeeping:

  • Enter experimental data into spreadsheets, databases, or laboratory software accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical experiment logs.

• Laboratory Organization:

  • Keep work areas neat, clean, and well-stocked.
  • Assist in inventory management of supplies, reagents, and consumables.
  • Help ensure safety compliance by following lab protocols and reporting hazards.

• Team Support:

  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and student researchers as needed.
  • Attend brief training sessions related to lab safety and specific research tasks.
