The role of a Student Hospitality Associate Lead provides students with a valuable opportunity to gain essential leadership experience under the guidance of a manager mentor. Building upon the skills acquired as a student hospitality associate, this role involves applying leadership techniques to assist in leading the operation. In addition, students in this role will gain exposure to other business areas, including merchandising, cash handling, and sales. Through the development of newly acquired skills, Student Hospitality Associate Leads will have gain hands on experience managing operations while providing leadership to their student hospitality associates. This experience can serve as a solid foundation for students to pursue the role of Student Hospitality Manager in the future or to explore specific area internships, along with Great dining benefits if you have the unlimited meal plan.

  • Student hospitality associate leads will receive comprehensive training directly from their manager, covering various aspects of leadership. This training encompasses coaching, delegation, scheduling, driving metrics and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and ensuring accountability for performance.
  • Food preparation in various dining locations across campus; work under guidance of experienced team members. Can be assigned to any dining location (catering, dining hall, Viking Court, Java City) and are responsible for preparing/serving food, guest service, and cleaning
Job Requirements
  • Students must have significant relevant food service or marketing experience
  • To be considered for this role, students should have at least 40 hours of hospitality experience in dining operations. Additionally, a strong desire to gain leadership experience, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is essential
