Job Description

The Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) is seeking an organized, dependable, and customer-focused student employee to serve as Office and Events Associates. This position provides valuable experience in event planning, office administration, customer service, and professional communication.

The Office and Events Associate will work closely with the CPPD Office Manager and other student employees to support daily office operations and assist with career development programs and campus events. Throughout the year, CPPD hosts trainings, career expos, and other campus events. Students in this role will help prepare for and execute these events while also supporting front desk reception and administrative functions.

This position is ideal for students who enjoy working with people, paying attention to details, staying organized, and contributing to a professional office environment.

Job Requirements

Students should have strong organizational and time management skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally with staff, students, and guests. Successful candidates will be dependable, customer service-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Experience with office tasks, event planning, Canva, Microsoft Forms, or customer service is helpful but not required. Below are some of the common tasks that students will be assigned in this position.

Event Support

  • Assist with planning and preparing for CPPD events and programs
  • Coordinate refreshments and supplies while working within budget guidelines
  • Reserve campus event spaces using EMS
  • Create event RSVPs and occasionally use Canva to create RSVP graphics
  • Represent CPPD at tabling events and assist with event promotion
  • Prepare supply lists, name tags, handouts, folders, and other event materials
  • Gather and organize materials needed for events
  • Assist with event setup, execution, and breakdown when class schedule permits
  • Clean and reorganize event spaces following programs

Office Support

  • Provide front desk reception and customer service
  • Answer phones and welcome visitors
  • Check students and guests in for appointments
  • Assist visitors in navigating the office and connecting with staff members
  • Help schedule appointments as needed
  • Monitor and assist with the CPPD email inbox
  • Work with the Handshake platform
  • Complete budget-related data entry and administrative tasks
  • Restock office supplies and maintain organized workspaces
