Job Description

To minister to the needs of the youth (grades 6-12), their parents, and the church as a whole. 

 

To plan and provide Bible study and times of reflection for the youth in order to encourage their spiritual growth: 

  1. Each Sunday during Sunday School time 

  1. Wednesday nights while the adults are meeting for Bible study time 

  1. Special retreats ? at least once a year 

 

To plan and provide activities for the youth to encourage their physical, social, and emotional development in a Christian context: 

  1. Planned activities for youth ? at least once a month on Sunday afternoons, such as hiking, biking, picnics, games (both indoors and out), suppers together at the church, etc. 

  1. Special activities throughout the year, such as overnight campouts, 5th Quarter Get-Togethers after football or basketball games, summer mission trips, Christmas caroling/party, other holiday events, etc. 

 

To provide mission opportunities for youth participation on a regular basis, such as: 

  1. Provide and lead youth to take part in a program once a month at a nursing home or to visit shut-ins of our church 

  1. Lead youth to participate in charitable ministries 

 To work with the church staff and church council in order to avoid any conflicts when scheduling events.
