Job Description for an African Girls Hope Foundation Intern
African Girls Hope Foundation (AGHF) empowers orphaned and refugee girls in Africa through education and mentorship. Our goal is to equip the girls in our program with the resources they need to graduate from high school and successfully pursue college or job training. We're a small, passionate team, and we rely on our dedicated interns to help us expand our impact.

Position Summary:
The AGHF intern will play a crucial role in supporting the foundation's fundraising, communication, and outreach efforts. This is a dynamic position that offers a unique opportunity to real world experience in the non-profit sector. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is passionate about our mission and eager to contribute to the growth of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Grant Research and Writing: Identify and research potential grant opportunities for the organization. Assist with the preparation and writing of grant applications to secure funding for our programs.
  • Public Relations and Outreach: Identify and research speaking opportunities for the Executive Director to promote AGHF's mission.
  • Digital Media and Content Creation: Create engaging content for AGHF's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. This includes crafting posts, designing graphics, and producing short videos for social media and the AGHF website.
  • Communications and Donor Relations: Assist with communications with current donors, ensuring they are informed of our progress and the impact of their contributions.
  • Fundraising Support: Promote fundraising opportunities for supporters to organize on behalf of AGHF. Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising and community events sponsored by the foundation.
  • Content and Blog Writing: Contribute to the AGHF website by writing blog posts that highlight our work, share success stories, and engage our audience.
  • Outreach and Engagement: Contact prospective supporters of the organization to build relationships and expand our network of people interested in supporting girls education in Africa
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Student should be a sophomore level or higher

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).

  • Experience with graphic design and video editing is a plus.

  • Passion for the mission of the African Girls Hope Foundation.
