Job Description

The Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research seeks a student assistant to support a variety of projects that advance undergraduate research on campus. Responsibilities include helping with the coordination of the Fall Undergraduate Research Conference (such as registration, name badges, and event setup), assisting with assessment efforts by compiling and analyzing survey data and preparing summary reports, and contributing to communication initiatives by designing flyers, managing social media posts, and helping write, design, and distribute an undergraduate research newsletter.

Job Requirements
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail – Ability to handle event logistics (conference registration/check-in, name badges, setup).
  • Data analysis and reporting skills – Compiling and analyzing survey data (e.g., SURF), preparing summary reports.
  • Written and visual communication skills – Designing flyers, designing/writing for newsletter, and managing social media content
  • Technical/software proficiency – Comfort with survey platforms, basic data analysis tools (e.g., Excel), and design/publishing software (e.g., Canva, Publisher).
  • Creativity – Developing engaging flyers, newsletters, and social media content (including taking pictures at events) to promote undergraduate research.
