Position Overview:
The Advancement Office at Darlington School is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented summer intern to support fundraising, alumni relations, and communications efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or young professional interested in nonprofit work, marketing, event planning, or development to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

-Assist with donor and alumni data management, including database updates and record maintenance

-Support preparation for fundraising initiatives, including the Darlington Fund and other campaigns

-Help draft and edit communications such as emails and social media posts

-Assist in planning and organizing events focusing on our Purple Tie Tiger Tailgate, including logistics and materials

-Provide general administrative support to the Advancement team as needed

 

Learning Opportunities:

-Gain exposure to fundraising strategy and donor stewardship

-Learn how advancement offices support independent school missions

-Develop skills in professional communication, data management, and project coordination

-Observe collaboration across departments and with school leadership

Job Requirements

Qualifications: Must be a sophomore or above to apply

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-High level of organization and attention to detail

-Ability to manage time effectively and work independently

-Interest in nonprofit work, education, communications, or related fields

-Familiarity with Google Workspace; experience with Canva or social media is a plus
