Job Description

The Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) at Berry College seeks applications for a graduate assistant who can help us coordinate the wide range of internship experiences occurring across the college. To this end, the Internships Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Employer Engagement & Internships and will focus on 3 primary areas of responsibility:

1.      Strengthening our Community & Industry (C&I) Work Partnership program by facilitating the recruitment, preparation, and evaluation of student employees working for local businesses.

2.      Providing support to students who are exploring, applying to, and preparing for a wide range of internship opportunities (e.g., C&I, Academic internships, Summer).

3.      Co-managing key systems, data, and student employees focused on internships.

The CPPD supports the college's mission and commitment to prepare the whole student for all of life in two primary ways: First, we offer all students 8 semesters of personal and professional development experience through LifeWorks, our distinctive student work program. In LifeWorks, students gain essential professional experiences and skill sets that set them up for lifelong success. Second, we leverage our campus-wide Career Development Network to meet students wherever they are in their personal and professional journey and help them learn to navigate their next steps towards a meaningful future career. In the CPPD, staff from the LifeWorks program and Career Development Network work closely together to create a more seamless college ecosystem that supports Berry students as they develop a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and creativity as they explore and pursue purposeful life and career goals.

Graduate assistants receive an hourly wage in addition to tuition remission for Berry's MBA program. Preferred candidates should possess skills in program management and professional communication, while also being attentive to trends in career/student development, employer relations, and internships. This person must also be willing to contribute to Berry's commitment to foster belonging in the context of diversity across the college.
