General Position Description: The Learning & Development Assistant (NeighborLife) supports the NeighborLife Mentors in planning and facilitating engaging learning experiences for Neighbors at Amber Grace Community. Learning & Development Assistants encourage curiosity, foster independence, adapt learning experiences to individual abilities, and build meaningful relationships that help Neighbors grow in confidence, responsibility, and purpose. Learning & Development Assistants participate in a tiered leadership pathway designed to develop their skills, responsibility, and leadership over time. Returning assistants take on increased ownership, mentor newer assistants, and help facilitate NeighborLife programming.
Apprentice Learning & Development Assistant (Entry-Level) For new hires or students in their first semester of service Responsibilities Include: - Observe and assist Mentors during workshops and NeighborLife experiences.
- Build relationships with Neighbors through encouragement and active participation.
- Assist with lesson preparation, activity setup, and learning materials.
- Learn strategies for adapting instruction to individual learning styles while embracing Amber Grace values.
- Participate in staff training and meetings with a willingness to learn and grow
