Are you curious about local history and folklore, maybe even a good ghost story? This position offers the opportunity to assist with research for a forthcoming book exploring the history, folklore, and legends of Rome, Georgia. Research will focus on uncovering the history behind local stories using microfilm, library and archival collections, public records, and online databases. The work may involve investigating people, places, and historical events; tracing property ownership; locating primary sources; verifying historical details; and following promising leads. Responsibilities also include keeping clear records of sources and findings and helping organize research materials. Some research will take place off campus at local libraries, archives, and public offices. |
