Job Description

Note taker service is a support service provided by the Academic Support Center (ASC) to students with documented disabilities. Students qualifying for note takers may be deaf or hard of hearing, blind or low vision, learning disabled, ADD, or any other documented disability. Note takers are hired to take class notes for another student for one semester and paid for one hour a week regardless of the number of times a class meets per week. Carbonized note taking paper is provided by the ASC.

Job Requirements

1. Be enrolled in the same class as the student in need of a note taker. 2. Note takers must be responsible, reliable, and prompt. 3. Note takers must sign a confidentiality statement. The violation of this trust is considered an extremely serious offense. 4 Note takers must successfully complete the online training at http://www.pepnet.org/e-learning/notetaker before being approved to take notes for another student. 5. Find a substitute note taker if you are absent. 6. Maintain a grade point average of at least 2.5.
