Job Description

Rome Shakespeare Festival (RSF) is looking for an intern who is out-going, with strong phone, computer and people skills to work closely with the Artistic Director and Managing Director of Rome Shakespeare Festival and to serve as liaison between Rome Shakespeare Festival & the Rome Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (CVB). DUTIES: •Work with RSF Marketing Committee and the CVB to implement Marketing, Media and Public Relations Plan for 2018 RSF Festival. Help expand the visibility of Rome Shakespeare Festival across Rome/ Floyd County and the State of Georgia.  •Implement the sales and marketing of a Major Shakespeare Festival across the State of Georgia •Help document events with photographs and video, such as student workshops, professional artist residencies, rehearsals and partnership activities between Rome Shakespeare Festival and the Rome Symphony Orchestra, The Art Coterie and the VCB, Rome/Floyd County School Systems, Broad Street Merchants and The City of Rome. •Participate in all meetings, planning & implementation of the upcoming RSF’s Picnic Performances of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth on Rome’s Town Green. •Help coordinate the layout of the Rome Shakespeare Festival Program. •Identify, Market & Book Groups for RSF’s outdoor performances on the Town Green. •Help develop a wide social media campaign for RSF. •Assist with RSF Annual Media Campaign, coordinate calendars and assist with the writing of Press Releases, News Articles and Promotion pieces. •Participate in the Rome CVB yearly planning meetings for the Art Market and Wings Over No. Georgia. •Work with the Rome CVB in the Media Booth for Wings Over North Georgia to promote RSF. •Create in-house printing projects. •Help to develop the visibility of Rome Shakespeare Festival in Rome, Floyd and the surrounding counties of Georgia and beyond.

Job Requirements

PREFERRED SKILLSETS: Good organizational skills, detail oriented, graphic design (ability to create a concept and prepare for digital use or print); a team player who is creative and imaginative. Boundless energy is a big plus. REQUIREMENTS: Must be computer and internet savvy, own a smart phone, have reliable transportation and physically able to lift up to 30 lbs. A portfolio of projects or photography samples would be helpful; Ability to make a minimum commitment to one full semester. Full school year preferred.
