Job Description

GENERAL DUTIES: REPORTS TO THE ANALYTICAL LAB TECHNICIAN AND PERFORMS THE DUTIES WITHIN THIS JOB DESCRIPTION.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

A. WILL ASSIST WITH LABORATORY TESTING ACCORDING TO ESTABLISHED STANDARDS, INCLUDING PRE-TEST PREPARATION/SET-UP, AND POST-TEST CLEAN UP.

 B. WILL DEVELOP SKILLS IN THE USE OF IN-HOUSE ANALYTICAL EQUIPMENT FOR DETERMINING PERMEATION OF CHEMICALS THROUGH GLOVE MATERIALS, INCLUDING ANALYTICAL BALANCE, pH METERS, AND GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT.

 C. MUST EXHIBIT A HIGH DEGREE OF DETAIL AND ORGANIZATION IN DATA ACQUISITION AND RECORD KEEPING.

 D. MUST HAVE ORGANIZING SKILLS TO KEEP ALL WORK AREAS CLEAN AND EFFICIENT.

 E. MUST HAVE LOYALTY TO THE COMPANY’S GOALS AND CONTRIBUTE TO PRODUCTS WHICH LIVE UP TO THE CORPORATE QUALITY POLICY.

 F. WILL ASSIST WITH TESTING OF CURRENT PRODUCTS, NEW PRODUCTS, COMPETITOR’S PRODUCTS, AND SAMPLES FOR R&D PROJECTS.

 G. WILL INFORM MANAGER OF ALL TEST RESULTS.

H. WILL NEVER RELEASE DATA TO ANYONE OUTSIDE THE COMPANY.  ALL INFORMATION IS TO BE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.

 I. MUST POSSESS COMPUTER SKILLS IN SPREADSHEET DEVELOPMENT, WORD PROCESSING,

 J. WILL FOLLOW ALL SAFETY AND OTHER COMPANY RULES AND REGULATIONS.

 K. WILL DEVELOP SKILLS TO BECOME PROFICIENT IN HANDLING CHEMICALS.

 L. MUST BE ABLE TO ACCESS SAFETY DATA SHEETS (SDS) FOR RISK INFORMATION.

 M. MUST BE SELF-MOTIVATED, WORK INDEPENDENTLY, AND COLLABORATE WITH OTHERS IN A TEAMWORK ENVIRONMENT.

 N. WILL ASSIST WITH SAMPLE, CONSUMABLE/SUPPLY, AND CHEMICAL INVENTORY MAINTENANCE.

 O. WILL ASSIST THE RA/QA AND R&D LABORATORIES AS NEEDED, WITH MECHANICAL TESTING,     COMPOUNDING, AND OTHER RELATED ACTIVITIES.

 P. WILL PERFORM ALL OTHER REASONABLE DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY MANAGEMENT.

Q.  INTERNET SEARCHES AND THE USE OF E-MAIL, AND WILL ASSIST WITH DATA MANAGEMENT AND FILLING OUT FORMS.

Job Requirements

A. PREFERRED POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION, MAJORING IN CHEMISTRY OR OTHER RELATED FIELD;  MINIMUM OF GENERAL CHEMISTRY I & II (CHM 108 & 109), PREFERRED ORGANIC CHEMISTRY I & II (CHM 221 & 222) IN ADDITION.

B. COMPUTER LITERACY IN MICROSOFT OFFICE APPLICATIONS.

C. MUST POSSESS BASIC ALGEBRA SKILLS

D. MINIMUM OF 18 YEARS OF AGE

E. UPPER CLASSMEN

F.  RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION.
