Job Description

Title I tutor works with identified at-risk students in grades 6-12 at the Open Door Home. STEAM tutors will lead small groups of students, with a tutor-to-student ratio of approximately 1:4. STEM tutors provide support in specified curriculum /content areas developed by Berry faculty. Tutors are paired with students based on their areas of expertise and preference. Students will work in 1.5-2.0 hour blocks of time, one or two days a week. Sessions will be in the early evenings between 4-6:00 pm. 

Job Requirements

Proficiency is subject material (various age levels). Creative Technology, science, and math majors are a plus.

Recommendation from faculty/advisors required. Ask faculty to send an email or letter of recommendation to Mark Kozera (mkozera@berry.edu). 

Must pass a criminal background check to be eligible (cost is $15, the student is responsible for the expense) and attend Communities in Schools mentor training (1.5 hours).

Sophomore or above with reliable transportation to and from Open Door Home.
